Given an odd pair of scissors by a mysterious woman, Laure found that the scissors can evolve into a large pair of double blades when she wills it to.

Laure’s blades are surrounded by a mist of magic. May cause paralysis, may just make her weapon look a tad more daunting. This skill is very draining, despite its uselessness.
Personality:
Laure possesses a wandering mind, consumed by wanderlust and a vivid imagination. She often makes assumptions and stories about people without base, and is a very opinionated person. However, Laure is also not one to shout her opinions to the world either, preferring to keep to herself. She is also fiercely stubborn, loyal to a fault, and despite not being the loudest of people, Laure will easily defend her beliefs and loved ones.
On the matter of loved ones, Laure also doesn’t trust very easily (due to previous betrayals), making it difficult for her to hold close relationships. She is fairly narrow minded, not particularly eager to take in opinions of others once she has made up for mind. Perhaps that is her greatest flaw, as it makes her cautious to change. Things need to be waved in front of Laure’s face for her to accept it.

History:
Laure was raised by her mother and grandmother in a slightly lacking home. Nonetheless, she was well loved by her two maternal figures and grew up hearing the adventurous stories of her missing father, a corporal in the army. Laure was filled with enchantment and a desire to live just as her father did. Once of age, she left her home to train as a soldier, attempting to work her way up the ranks, aiming to be corporal. After two re-enlistments, both resulting in failure, Laure abandoned this dream and instead travelled around as a nomad.
She soon came across a church in the neutral grounds, hearing tales of a phantom residing there. She also heard of the reward one might acquire for expelling the phantom from the grounds. Driven by both a want to see the legend with her very eyes, and a need for that reward, Laure set about destroying the phantom. As she arrived at the church, Laure was stopped by a cloaked woman. The stranger handed her a pair of scissors with an expectant look, and left at that.
Upon entering the church, she came to realise that the ‘phantom’ was not what exactly people assumed. The person residing there looked to be a translucent, but quite normal man; he looked fairly different from her impression of dark cloaks and eerie figures. After fashioning a terrible eye patch for the ghostly man, she conceived him as some sort of an acquaintance. Or perhaps merely a figment of her imagination, as he disappeared when morning came.
She visited home after a time, and was welcomed with a dead mother and a mourning grandmother. Her grandmother revealed that her father was not the man her mother described, instead a one night stand her mother romanticised. Feeling a sense of betrayal and slight disgust of her similarities to her deceased mother, Laure carried on with her life. For once seeking a complete change of pace, she settled down away from home and with a career change. Laure began a business of tailoring with her mysterious scissors in hand and occasional memories of phantoms on her mind.
